> DOCS / METRICS + SIGNAL
How Plug Radar works.
Plug Radar scans Vinted UK across 90+ brands and 22 categories, then aggregates the signal into product-level cards you can act on. Here's what the numbers on each card mean, and how to read them.
┌── ▲ TIERS ──
Trending vs Rising
Every product on the radar sits in one of two tiers:
▲ TRENDING
Strongest signal. Sold 5+ in the last 7 days, from 2+ different sellers, moving in under 15 days on average. Your safe bets for sourcing.
▽ RISING
Momentum, pre-peak. Sold 2+ in the last 7 days, moving in under 25 days on average. Worth watching or buying-in early before it hits Trending.
┌── ◆ CONFIDENCE ──
How reliable is this signal
The tier tells you demand. The confidence tag tells you how much data we're working with.
◆ VERIFIED
30+ sold in the last 30 days AND 5+ unique sellers. Big enough sample to trust the numbers. Multiple sellers = not just one person's inventory.
◆ LIKELY
10–29 sold OR 3–4 unique sellers. Signal is real but thinner. Cross-check before ordering big.
◆ EMERGING
Early days, small sample. Interesting but treat with caution — could be a flash trend or noise.
┌── ▼ DEMAND SCORE ──
The 0–100 number
The number in the top-right of every card. Weighted composite of three signals:
- 50% — how many sold in the last 24h vs the hottest product in the scan
- 30% — how many sold in the last 7d vs the hottest product in the scan
- 20% — how fast items are turning over (faster = higher)
80+ flying off shelves right now
50–79 strong steady demand
30–49 respectable, worth watching
< 30 slow burner or thin data
Score is relative to that scan cycle — a 60 today isn't the same as a 60 last month. It's a snapshot, not a stock price.
┌── ⇪ SOLD METRICS ──
The four time windows
Every card shows sold counts across four windows:
- LAST 12H — very short-term. Spot flash trends.
- LAST 24H — day-of momentum. What's hot right now.
- LAST 7D — the sourcing signal. Most useful for reseller decisions.
- LAST 30D — longer arc. Is this a trend or a fad.
┌── ⚡ TURNOVER (SPD) ──
Days from listed to sold
Average time from a listing being posted to selling. Lower = faster money.
< 3d instant flip category
3–7d healthy turnover
7–14d average — reasonable hold
14d + slow — might be overpriced or oversaturated
┌── ▽ SELLERS (SLR) ──
How many different people are selling this
How many unique sellers moved this product in the window.
- High sellers, high sold = broad demand, hard to dominate.
- Low sellers, high sold = concentrated inventory, maybe an opportunity.
- One seller only — could just be an efficient reseller, not real market demand.
We also run an anti-dump check — if one seller is unloading a stack of the same item, we discount the demand score so you don't confuse a fire-sale for a trend.
┌── ◆ CATEGORY-LEVEL (MIXED) ──
When a card says "MIXED"
Some cards show · MIXED in the title (e.g. "Broken Planet · Hoodies · MIXED"). That means the signal is aggregated across all Broken Planet Hoodies rather than a specific product model. Still directionally useful — but less precise than a product-level card.
Sub-product breakdowns for MIXED cards are shipping in a future update.
┌── 🔄 REFRESH CADENCE ──
How often the numbers update
- Radar: automatically re-scanned every 3 hours.
- Your custom trackers: initial data lands within ~30 seconds of adding, refreshed every 3 hours after that.
- Shared scan: 500 people tracking the same item = one search per cycle. Efficient for us, fresher for you.
┌── ◇ ACCURACY ──
How accurate is the data
Straight up: we show directional signal, not certified sales data. Best used for spotting trends and prioritising what to source — not exact forecasting.
Where we're strong:
- Rankings — which items are actually moving vs sitting still. This is the most reliable output.
- Median prices on high-volume items (100+ live listings).
- Freshness — every 2–6 hours, not a static database.
Where to caveat:
- Sold counts are inferred from listings that disappear — some are removed for other reasons, so treat exact numbers as ballpark.
- Long-tail items (under 10 listings) have volatile medians — one outlier warps the average.
- Vinted UK only — if it's hot on Depop or Grailed, we don't see it.
Use Plug Radar to shortlist. Cross-check the top picks against your own margins.
┌── ⚠︎ COVERAGE ──
What's not on the radar
- Brands we don't scan — we cover the biggest UK reseller brands. Missing yours? Drop it in the group and we'll add it.
- Not-yet-live products — pre-orders and unreleased drops obviously have no resale data yet.
